“And I write novels!” chimed in the other cop. “Though I haven’t had any of them published yet, so I better warn you, I’m in a meeeean mood!”*
–The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
*I promise I’m not actually in a meeeean mood
My name’s Michela and I write middle grade sci-fi and fantasy. And I know this question is on your mind, so let’s just get it out of the way right now: It’s pronounced “mee-KE-la.” (Okay, maybe I’m in a little bit of a mean mood.)
I live in the Greater Boston area with my husband and son. By day I’m an online course editor for Harvard. By night I’m trying to find time to beat the Breath of the Wild DLC 2. Instead I keep getting distracted by the cooking.
Before I moved to Boston in the summer of 2017, I was at Brigham Young University, where I studied fairytales, adolescent literature, and creative writing under the pretense of being an English major. I’ve been writing seriously since 2011.
